STEPHANIE PAKOWITZ (she/her)

My journey with yoga began during my undergraduate studies in Boston, where I attended my first class. Upon returning to my hometown of New York City, I explored various styles of yoga, often wavering between commitment and curiosity. It wasn’t until 2007, with the start of my career in elementary music education, that I recognized yoga as an essential practice for my health and well-being.

Over the years, I embraced vinyasa yoga as a form of self-care, and this led me to discover mindfulness practices for young children. As part of a program aimed at guiding students, I developed a daily meditation practice—a process that sparked both fascination and intense personal growth. In 2015, I trained in the Transcendental Meditation technique, which deepened my understanding of mindfulness and allowed me to fully integrate these practices into my daily life.

After moving abroad to Singapore in 2018, I returned to Boston in 2022. While I often considered attaining my certification as an instructor, in 2024, I finally completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at JP Centre Yoga. Today, I feel incredibly grateful to be part of this vibrant community and to share my love for yoga and mindfulness with a diverse group of learners. Who knew that my first class back in college would ultimately spark a lifelong passion? My goal is to inspire students to cultivate curiosity, discover their own grounding, and build strength and self-awareness through their own yoga practice.
