NIKKI GLENDYE (she/her)

My yoga journey began in 2020 when I found myself practicing on a bath towel (I wasn’t quite ready to invest in a mat) after being diagnosed with several health conditions. Encouraged by physical therapists, friends, and a sense of cosmic guidance, I decided to give yoga a try. What started as an experiment became life-changing, transforming not only my physical health but also my connection to myself and the collective.

As my daily practice deepened, I became more centered, less reactive, and truly present - even in turbulent moments. In May 2023, I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at JPCY, an experience that reshaped my path and purpose. Since then, I’ve been immersed in JPCY’s community - first as a work-study and community class teacher, and now as Studio Manager. This space humbles me daily and continues to reinforce my belief in collective care and authentic connection.

What You Can Expect From My Classes

Having grappled with disconnection from my body, my deepest aspiration is to create a space for exploration and self-acceptance in my classes. Throughout my life, I've been in many corrective environments that left me feeling disconnected from myself. Because of this, when I teach, my intention is to offer a space where everyone can feel a sense of belonging and trust in their own experience. My cueing is rooted in physical alignment, not to 'fix' or 'change,' but to invite deeper exploration of your own physical form.

I believe yoga is for everyone, so I strive to use inclusive language and offer options that honor that principle. My classes incorporate breathwork, consent-based hands-on adjustments, and creative prop use to meet each practitioner where they are.

Outside the studio, you’ll often find me in JPCY’s lobby (likely on the extra comfy brown couch), cuddling my cat Lou, or thrifting around Boston.
