Grief and Praise: Honoring What Is Missed with Marlene Boyette

“Grief is praise, because it is the natural way love honors what it misses.” - Martìn Prechtel, The Smell of Dust and Rain: Grief and Praise

Grief is an unavoidable part of the human experience, as we all will surely be separated from something or someone that we hold dear in this lifetime.

The manner in which we move through this process of grieving is unique to the individual, and often can be incredibly difficult to navigate and express. For this reason, developing new ways to be in a relationship with and express grief can transform suffering into sweet medicine.

Within this workshop, space will be held to:

- Honor what and whom is being grieved
- Experience movement (asana / yoga) as a tool for shifting and releasing stagnant emotions from the body and heart space
- Experience stillness and quietness as means for reflection, honoring and understanding
- Be immersed in sound (via singing bowls chimes and other instruments), as an approach to addressing energetic blockages, softening the mind, physical body and heart center through a vibrational experience
- Share you choice of either cacao, or a tea blend, crafted by Marlene, with herbs that support the heart chakra

Participants are welcomed to bring:

Images and / or items that will be used to create an altar honoring what / whom is being grieved, a journal and writing utensils, and your favorite drinking mug.

* Please note - for livestream participants the sound bath element of the workshop will not be available due to technical constraints. Thank you for your understanding.
