Divine Mother Practice with Brenna Matthews

Divine Mother goddess Durga rides her lion, carrying her

Mother's Day can be a day of celebration, but it can also be a day filled with grief and loss.

It is a day to honor and a day to mourn. Turning to the grace and compassion of the Divine Mother is a way to be held in all these complexities with great care.

The Divine Mother is known by many names and faces — Durga, Kali, Mahadevi, Tara, Mary, Guan Yin, and more — yet She transcends name and form. These manifestations represent different aspects of the whole: the one who birthed the universe — the loving, nurturing, creative, and fierce primal force behind all existence.

In a world that often overlooks or diminishes qualities of tenderness, compassion, and love, it is imperative that we honor the sacred feminine within and around us — in ourselves, in our communities, and in the broader systems we engage with and support. This workshop will focus on fostering community support and connection, offering a yoga and meditation practice that honors and invokes the presence of the Divine Mother. Her love knows no bounds and is not confined by gender or labels — she is present in all, and all are embraced. All are welcome.
