WHAT IS REIKI?

Reiki is a traditional Japanese stress reduction and relaxation method that promotes healing. A Reiki treatment is given through physical touch. In a Reiki session, the practitioner moves through a series of hand positions across the recipient’s body. Reiki can stimulate the body’s natural relaxation response, which also aids the overall healing and wellbeing of the recipient.

While Reiki can be a powerful and supportive healing aid for others, its greatest benefits unfold when we establish a personal self-healing practice. A consistent daily practice of Reiki self-care has all the benefits of meditation. Learning Reiki can greatly assist you in cultivating restfulness, revitalisation, and healing within your life. A Reiki self-healing practice quickly becomes an anchor of peace and calm within a fluctuating world.

WHAT IS JIKIDEN REIKI?

Jikiden Reiki is Reiki as it was originally practiced in Japan. The word Jikiden means “original” or “authentic.” Jikiden Reiki is a style of Reiki practice that has not been influenced by the West. It is a simple folk healing practice based on the philosophy that our hands have the ability to invite others to return to their original state of wellbeing, relaxation, and health.

Within Jikiden Reiki, we have a clear lineage that can be traced back to the founder of Reiki, Mikao Usui. Dr. Chujiro Hayashi studied with Usui, and Chiyoko Yamaguchi studied with Hayashi. In the late 1990s, the Yamaguchi family decided to share the practice they learnt from Hayashi with the rest of the world, resulting in us having the practice of Jikiden Reiki today.

WHY JOIN THIS WORKSHOP?

Healing through touch has been a part of how we’ve taken care of ourselves and others for thousands of years. There are many techniques of energy healing that require years of meditation, visualisation, crystals, and other tools to help you access your innate healing potential. However, traditional Reiki is pure and simple. It quickly awakens our ability to perceive subtle energy and to use it as a healing tool. After this retreat, you will have all the tools you need in order to:

•  Begin a daily Reiki self-healing practice.
•  Deepen your sensitivity and perception of subtle energy within and around you.
•  Naturally increase your intuition.
•  Give Reiki treatments to others.

Led by expert astrologer and Jikiden Reiki teacher Mychal A. Bryan, this course is meant to give you a depth of insight into the sacred healing power of rest and relaxation. You will learn techniques to help increase the body’s natural self-healing processes. You will also learn powerful practices to help you find stability and ease within a turbulent world.
